Autumn Equinox

Last week Big Kids Club fell on the day before the Autumn Equinox so parents and some younger siblings joined the big kids for a fire in North Kelvin Meadows.

The fire was slow to get going at first as the week had been so wet but, after much scrabbling about under trees, we found enough dry wood to make some respectable flames. We chatted and toasted marshmallows, allowing some to become deliciously burnt. After a while a spontaneous game of Tug of War struck up

tug o'war  and there were the usual adventures in the tree house. It was pleasing and fitting to see signs of Autumn all around including juicy brambles and mushrooms hidden in the undergrowth.
